Bathurst 07

The ride planned for the 7 Oct 07 coincided with the Bathurst weekend. So we planned for a Bathurst BBQ ride and no we weren't going to ride to Bathurst to have a BBQ. The meeting point was the outward bound Shell service centre just before the Westgate Bridge. Once everyone found the place we waited for any late comers before departing on time, we didn't won't to miss the beginning of the race. At the same time another bike club was also waiting for some of there late comers to arrive. We departed for our short ride to stevo's as he was providing the venue for the day. I proceeded along the route that I had planned which was into Williamtown and then down towards the bay up Kororoit Creek Rd to Laverton and then into Werribee and stevo's place. As I turned into Stevo's I heard a bike go past and then do a u turn and leave. What's happened is as we pulled out of the Shell this guy was coming up the Freeway and notice us leave and thought it was his group. He's followed us all the way to the BBQ only to realise that it wasn't the group he was expecting. But as some of the guys said later we were riding different bikes and wearing different clothes from him. Any way I hope he found the people he was looking for and had a good ride. We on the other hand had a great laugh about it.

We had arrived in time to see the beginning of the race and we settled in for a long day. Everybody had there favourites but it turned out a little one sided as most people followed Ford. Bull and his wife arrived and kindly stated the BBQ and everything seamed to be progressing along nicely until Bull informed Stevo that he had run out of gas. Cooking completed everybody had ample food and then some thanks to Bull and his wife. Most people stayed until close to the end of the race with loud applause when a Ford passed a Holden. Everybody had a great day and thank you to those that helped and to Steve for letting us utilise his wonderful setup. By the way for those not interested in Motor racing Ford win.
