Sandy's Noms Ride
On a beautiful sunny day, ordered by me, we formed up at the Ampol service station on the Hume Hwy near Truck City Drive.
Initially we set out with the following club members: Foggy, Scorpion, Magic, Gibbo, Rat, Cougar, Doc, Fugue, Bert, Jinjin, Skinner, and the following guests: Robert and Linda.
We headed out, in 30 deg weather, onto the Hume Hwy as far as the Kilmore exit, then went through Wallan, onto Kilmore, and finished the initial section at Lancefield, where we stopped at the local Pub and had a couple of cool drinks. I must have been eager for that drink, because I did something that was drummed into me not to do on my Learners Course, and turned the handlebars and put the brake on, and what happens when turning and braking, yes bike falls over, but it did not touch the ground, thanks Magic for your help. The Lancefield Pub is where Clubs caught up with us.
A surprise phone call was received saying that Bluebell, Issy and Rocket wood meet up with us at the next town.
We traveled from Lancefield to Woodend to meet the Bendigo trio. When we arrived at Woodend, Clubs on behalf of the President and committee members presented me with my Patriots Patch, and I was very proud to accept it. In the presentation speech, Clubs called me the First Lady, and I think that has a nice ring to it. Clubs also presented Noms patches to Rat, Doc, and Fugue, well done fellas.
We left Woodend to travel the Mount Macedon road heading through Mount Macedon, Skirting around Gisbourne, through Riddells Creek to Sunbury, where the Bendigo trio left us. We continued from Sunbury though Oaklands to Craigieburn.
Once home, I was glad to have an alcoholic drink, knowing that I was at the end of my road that day.
