Family Day at Luna Park
The weather on our Family day at Luna Park started
overcast, windy and threatening to rain, just your normal day in
Melbourne, four seasons in one day. We were to meet at 10:30 so if
anyone was interested in getting a coffee there was time before the
place opened. Sandy and Gibbo arrived, then some of the guys from
Gippsland and finally Fugue and one of his daughters and Stevo and
Annie.
The Park was scheduled to open at 11:00 but that didn't happen,
not that we were to concerned as it gave us time to have a bit of a chat
whilst we waited for any others to turn up. The weather was changing
into a nice fine and sunny day with a small breeze.
We decided to go in and those that were interested brought
tickets, one ride on anything was 7 dollars but you could buy a ride
ticket for 35 dollars or so and you could ride as many times as you
liked. A few of us had rides on a couple of different types, but I think
the funniest was Gibbo, Fugue, Stevo and the others all on dodgem cars
I'm just glad they don't ride like they drive.
After a while we had lunch and for me finally a coffee. The
prices weren't to expensive for what you had and the hamburger had to be
the best price. Lunch was aloud to settle before back to the rides some
going on the same ride for about the fourth time but how do you tell
your son, a 21 year old, that he's had enough.
By mid afternoon most of us had had a ride on everything we
could, some more than once. So we said our goodbyes to the Gippsland
guys and headed home. The ones that where there had a really good day.
The disappointing thing for the day was that only a few turned up. You
don't have to have kids to go on a family day. |
